Nothing much is different in Jamaica in 2019 than that which was there in 1494 when discovered by Christopher Columbus. Of course, the infrastructure is different, and Jamaica is now almost totally dependent upon tourism, but the Earth, Moon, Sun and Seas are much like they were back then.

This panoramic view, complements of Google was taken using a Google Nexus 6P. All remaining photos and videos were taken from the same location using a Nikon P1000 .

This photo was taken about 30 minutes after it was spotted with the P1000, and video recorded. Note the wake in the front of the vessel, and compare that to the wake seen in the video from a further distance.
Relatively, the wakes are similar in size as the ship headed to the East. The bright spot on the ship is a reflection of the Sun at that time of day.
The next video is of what I called a Fishing Trawler simply because it was in the same position for some length of time. Other than holding its position, it does not look anything like a fishing vessel.
Below is a video of the Moon from Jamaica:
And for my last observations in this article are my Google Timelines on the days I went offshore snorkling and Shopping in Ocho Rios.

This is great you have a high profile camera
Thanks Jennifer. It was quite a view once I upgraded….
